Tips From the Pros
Renowned makeup artist Jose Parron considers Dermablend
Corrective Cosmetics® a must-have for every makeup artist’s kit.
Each day, he works with clients who have varying beauty needs and
skin imperfections – from acne scars to uneven skin tone, birthmarks,
or dark under-eye circles. Jose reveals his tips for using Dermablend
to solve common skin and beauty problems.

Problem: Dark Under-Eye Circles
Solution: Nothing conceals dark circles more completely or naturally than Dermablend Quick Fix® Concealer.
Jose’s Tip: Packaged in a convenient stick, it is applied to the eye area
without caking or smearing. It can be used with additional makeup
or alone. To protect this delicate area, always gently place or pat on
as opposed to rubbing. Remember to apply Quick-Fix Concealer to
the inner eye area for best results. Conceal darkest area, and then
blend outwards, preferably using a nylon concealer brush.

Problem: Facial Imperfections, such as Vitiligo, Portwine Birthmark,
Rosacea, Scars, Burns, and Post-Surgical Healing
Solution: Dermablend Compact Cover Crème is an all-day foundation
that achieves a beautiful natural-looking and flawless finish. It is
fragrance free and sensitivity tested; ideal for even the most fragile skin.
Jose’s Tip: First, be sure that skin is cleansed. Apply daily moisturizer if
needed. For matte coverage, apply Dermablend Compact Cover
Crème with fingertips, allowing the product to warm first. For lighter
coverage, use the sponge that is enclosed with the compact. When
using Dermablend Cover Crème or Compact Cover Crème, a little
goes a long way. It is completely opaque, so that complete and natural-
looking coverage can be achieved without applying it too thickly. If
only using for problem areas, always apply regular foundation first, then
Dermablend. Finish by setting both with Dermablend Setting Powder.

Problem: Cellulite, Varicose Veins, Stretchmarks, Bruises or Tattoos
Solution: Cover imperfections from the neck down with
Dermablend Leg & Body Cover Crème. It goes on easily and won’t smear
or rub off. Remember to allow several minutes to dry completely
before getting dressed.
Jose’s Tip: Always start with a light, all-over body moisturizer. Then
apply Dermablend Leg & Body Cover Crème with fingertips in a sweeping, up
and down motion. Remember to blend well. For a silky, longer-lasting
finish, use Dermablend’s Setting Powder after it has dried.

Problem: Dry, Chapped Lips, Laugh Lines or Crow’s Feet
Solution: Remedy dry, cracked lips and soften fine lines and laugh
lines with Dermablend Wrinkle Fix, an intensive moisture treatment with SPF 15.
Jose’s Tip: Apply it to the face before makeup to keep lipstick and
eye makeup looking fresh all day long.

Problem: Makeup that Won’t Stay Put
Solution: A makeup artist’s best friend (and best-kept secret) is
Dermablend’s Setting Powder. It helps cosmetics stay put and color stay true all day.
Jose’s Tip: Apply Dermablend Setting Powder after concealer or
foundation. Simply shake the colorless powder onto a puff or cotton
pad and dust on. Wait five minutes, then lightly brush off excess. It is also available in a compact form.

Problem: Contouring
Solution: Dermablend Cover Crème is excellent for contouring. Use
a shade slightly darker than your natural skin tone to minimize areas, then a slightly lighter shade to add length or width, or to highlight desirable features.
Jose’s Tip: To minimize a long nose, apply a slightly darker Cover Crème
to the tip and blend out the edges. On a forehead that is not wide enough, use a shade lighter on the outer vertical edges; this will add
width. For people with a low forehead, make a circle with a light shade and blend very well. This will open up the forehead.

Reminders:
- Always apply Dermablend Cover Crème and Leg & Body Cover Crème to clean, moisturized skin.
- Remember. . . less is more with Dermablend. A little goes a long way since it has a high concentration of color; this allows you to achieve your desired coverage.
- Dermablend Cover Crème can be applied with fingertips or a sponge. Sponge application gives a lighter coverage.
- Remember the Dermablend Setting Powder must be used. If not, coverage will not be water or smudge resistant.
- Use your brushes. . . and don’t be afraid to experiment.
- Mix shades for that perfect match with Dermablend Cover Crème and Leg & Body Cover Crème!
- Your fingers are a great tool for coverage! For sheer application apply with the sponge or for full application apply with your fingertips.
